Coke Polar Bowl
Coke decided to drive engagement to their Facebook page for this year's Super Bowl Advertising. They featured their beloved polar bears as opposing football fans watching the big game. But, the page was a whopping 3MB! The spike in traffic caused the page to crash completely. Coke was forced to take the site down for maintenance for a large part of the game. With ads promoting the page on television, this left many visitors confused as evidenced in the tweets below.

Acura
Acura debuted its new and improved NSX vehicle during Super Bowl Sunday. Preaching the car's ultra-high performance, the same could not be said about its website. The website crashed directly after its aired commercial. Viewers were left with nothing but a glimpse of the car on the television ad. Most fans weren't impressed: |
Act Of Valor
One of the most buzzed about movies of the night, every time this ad played the website went down. We detected at least 6 outages of 5 minutes long! Aside from the outages, the site was 5x slower during the Super Bowl. Before the game, the site's average load time was 3.2 seconds, but when it came game time the site slowed to a grueling 13.9 seconds! |
